When Dad's in Charge

And he takes you on your very first Father/Son Campout with the rest of the dads and their boys from church...
You end up, after getting ready for the morning, looking like this (and yes, those are pajamas doubling as pants).
Then Dad takes you on a cool hike, dressed in your very best camouflage sweatsuit, and teaches you how to blend completely into your surroundings.

I think someone forgot to mention to Cade that he doesn't exactly blend in.
Ps
- kudos to Evan for taking both kiddos with him on the campout. He was understandably nervous that while helping one out, the other might jump into the fire or something. Everyone came home unscathed, dirty, and completely exhausted. I, on the other hand, felt ridiculously rested.

That's hilarious! I'm sure none of the other fathers noticed the pajamas acting as pants. I'm guessing most of the little boys looked similar. Glad you got to relax for a night! June 4 is my last day :)

Wow, I'm impressed with Evan for taking both boys by himself on a camping trip!! I'm thinking this might inspire Zach to try it out this summer with his Dad too :) We miss you and so glad to see pics of your growing boys!!

I love the camo pictures. They are never too young to learn those skills I guess?? Did you do anything fun without any kids around? Evan was very brave to take a 2 year old camping by himself.

I am feeling some serious withdrawls from our weekly/daily chats. Seriously. I've called you and left some messages but then my phone has died so I don't know if I missed you trying to call me back? Anyways - let's connect - PLEASE!

So we all already knew Evan was dad of the year - but really, how cute is it that he took COlt & Cade on a campout? Those are the types of things you imagine when you find out you're having a boy. Father/Son campouts. Though when I told Logan how fun that would be the day we found out we were having a boy, he replied how good his meal at Olive Garden was. Fantastic.

ANyways - Evan is dad of the year. If I could imagine anyone who would be awesome at father/son campouts, it's him. Maybe I'll send Gavin with Evan too - while Logan enjoys his Olive Garden ;). haha. j/k.

And love the pics!! I want to live close to you - and I cannot WAIT to see you this weekend and again in June, and again in July. It's like Christmas early ;) Love you.

way to go evan! It's awesome that you went, and Steve (& Carter) missed out big time. I agree with Lindsey--those guys didn't even notice the pj pants outfit...in fact, I bet half the grown men were doing the same thing. And, my first thought upon seeing this post was "AND HE TOOK A CAMERA AND HE TOOK PICTURES!" That's a true feat.

Of course Ev-dog is going to teach them all about stealthy sneaking around. I love the kids way of hiding-- cover your eyes and you are invisible! Can't believe how big they are and I'm so excited to see them in person soon!! Did you get some spa time while they were out getting dirty? And go Evan for keeping them alive during the manly bonding time!!

Evan scored some major brownie points for taking a 2 yr old camping! What did you do with yourself while they were gone? I bet it was heaven! Your boys are getting so big! Miss ya tons!

YAY for Fathers & Sons campouts! Oh why do I keep having girls?! I will never experience the full joy that mothers of boys experience on those blessed events. Kudos to Evan for taking the risk of camping with 2 small guys... not an easy task, I'm sure!
