The Hunt

It's been a cold spring. Cold enough that my kids have resigned to warming themselves by the heater vent in the bathroom, of all things. Thankfully, I have come out of my pregnancy slump and these floors/bathroom are relatively clean. The weeks leading up to Easter, the Chicago skies have given us nothing but rain, the really yucky, cold kind. Hence the cuddling up by our version of a fire. By some Easter miracle, the sun came out and we were able to have the long anticipated egg hunt in our backyard. What's better is Evan, who has been working some seriously depressing hours lately, was able to get off work early and join us.

The hunt was a success though I can't say the same for getting the kiddos to actually look at the camera. At the same time. Smiling. I'm exhausted thinking about it. Candy and chocolate was enjoyed by all, especially a certain pregnant mama, as was evidenced by the nurse who weighed me at my doctors appointment the next day. She wrote down my weight, noticed the sizable difference from the month before and said, "Looks like you had a good Easter." Why yes I did, thank you.

My parents came to visit for Easter and my mom and I have been busy making room for Baby Girl. This included buying some bunk beds and moving the boys into a room together.
The room is painted (thanks Evan!), the bunk beds are up and running and now I'm starting to wonder if these boys will ever actually fall asleep in their lovely new beds.

I was good this year and bought less candy than usual.. which just meant I had to fight off the kids a little more to eat their candy! Heh...

Ah, the third child move in the other two routine. I remember it well. They'll get better being together, but honestly, Will and Natalie have shared a room for over two years now, and I still hear them giggling and getting into trouble way later than they should be awake. It builds memories though. They are much better friends because of the bunk beds.

Love the blue!

Trying to capture the fun moments on camera is so tough! I saw so many great moments when I was there but my camera wasn't fast enough to capture the cuteness when it happened. Thanks so much for making the effort to document their lives for us. It helps me feel included. And they look so cute in their bunk beds!! Cade looks so tiny on top!!
I'm already missing the Easter candy. I ate more than my fair share but still, I'm always sad to see it go. I think it's the best holiday for chocolate!!

Much love! ciege

(This is Aaron)- Eerrrp! It sounds like Evan must be in control of the heat settings :) I have memories of Evan enforcing that the thermostat never get above 65 unless we had a girl visiting! Those were great times. You guys should post a picture of the outside of your new house. I want to see it!

Good luck getting them to go to bed. Our boys still haven't learned how to sleep together, although they share a room. I am so excited for you and glad you can finally enjoy chocolate again :) Good luck staying warm! We had snow a week ago...stinkin global warming :)

Okay so I need your help!! How did you get your husband to get all that together. You are way too ahead of me. I am freaking out about the lack of nursery preparation. I mean I can't blame poor Aaron who has been out of town for a few weeks but how can I motivate him as much as I am???

Loving the cute boys in the bunk beds!
