Some Attitude

I've been feeling the baby move since last week and it is by far my favorite part of being pregnant. Last night lying in bed he/she was really moving around (this kid loves some sugar) and Evan wanted a part of the action. He started pushing (gently, I promise folks) on my stomach and this little tiny thing gave such a strong kick, I couldn't believe it. There's part of me that's thinking a girl because man was there attitude in that kick. Pretty much saying, 'If you could stop poking and prodding, I'm trying to get some sleep here.' I think it was the first time that this pregnancy felt 'real' to Evan, you know? Not that he hasn't been feeling the effects from a less than energetic wife, but since he hasn't heard the heartbeat yet and I don't technically look pregnant (more like I've had one too many cookies...) this was the first time he interacted. He looked at me after feeling the baby and said, "There's a kid in there!" Well yes, honey, I wasn't kidding about that...

Rebecca, I am so happy for you y'all. I love reading on here and getting updates on my dear friend so many miles away. And don't even get me started on how cute Colt is. Any progress in the getting Evan to move to Texas campaign? :)

That is so funny. I'm sure it's a bit different for the father's to understand pregnancy.

Man, I felt so doughy the second time around! But I loved those first kicks. Even I didn't believe I was pregnant till I felt those. It gives a lot more motivation to survive the less than great parts of the pregnancy! I'm going to try and call you sometime next week! I want to hear all about everything going on, or whats not going on... ;)
